Yes. If you only need a single board to look professional (custom player avatars, custom colors, backgrounds, your logo, no badge, and up to 50 participants), you can unlock that one board for a one-time $15, right from the board's editor. It's permanent: no subscription, nothing to cancel, and it stays unlocked forever. Pro and Premium are better value once you're running several boards.

Pro gives you up to 25 boards, 50 participants per board, custom branding, data exports, the developer API, and shared admin access for up to 3 people. Premium includes everything in Pro plus up to 100 boards, 500 participants per board, unlimited shared admins, team management with roles, analytics, and an audit log.

Yes. Upgrades are prorated, so you only pay the difference for the rest of your billing cycle and the new plan starts immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period, so you keep what you paid for until then. Switching between monthly and annual works the same way.

One click, from your account page — no email, no phone call, and nothing to talk you out of it. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, then reverts to Free. We also email you three days before every renewal, monthly or annual, with a cancel link right in the message.

Nothing is deleted. Your boards and all their data stay exactly as they are. If you're over the Free plan's limits you simply can't add more boards or participants until you're back within them, and paid-only features like custom branding and exports switch off. Everything comes back the moment you resubscribe.

Yes — Pro and Premium are subscriptions, so they renew until you cancel: monthly plans every month, annual plans once a year. You'll get an email three days before each renewal telling you the exact amount and date, with a one-click cancel link. The 7-day Pro pass is the exception: it's a single payment that expires on its own and never renews.

No. The 7-day Pro pass is $9, one payment, and gives you everything in Pro for a week — no card kept on file and nothing to cancel. When it ends your account goes back to Free and your boards stay put. If you only need one board to look professional rather than a whole plan, the $15 permanent board unlock is the other option.

We handle refunds on a case-by-case basis. If you're not happy with your purchase, reach out within 14 days and we'll work something out. You can also cancel any subscription in one click to stop all future charges.

Yes, on every plan including Free. Each board gets an iframe code you can drop into any website, blog, WordPress, Squarespace, Notion, or LMS, and the embedded board updates in real time with your theme and colors. Embeds on the Free plan show a small 'Made with MakeTheBoard' badge; any paid plan removes it.
