Built for a Whole Season

Not a schedule you print once — a table that stays right all season.

Fixtures Built For You

Enter the teams and the full schedule appears, grouped into matchdays, with every pairing played exactly once. An odd number of entrants gets a rotating bye rather than a fixture nobody plays.

The Table Keeps Itself

Played, won, drawn, lost, scored, conceded, difference and points, recalculated from the fixtures every single time. Fix a result you typed wrong and the standings correct themselves instantly.

Your Competition's Points

3/1/0 by default, but set your own. Basketball leagues run 2/1/0, pub ladders score 2/0 with no draws, and a games night is often just 1 for a win. A table that cannot express your rules is a table you keep somewhere else.

Home & Away

Play every pairing twice, once in each direction, for a proper two-legged season. In a single round the generator alternates sides so nobody is listed first every week.

Live, Shareable Link

One public link shows the table and every fixture, updating the moment a result lands. Drop it in a group chat, email it to parents, or put it on the screen at the clubhouse.

Feeds a Knockout

Run the group stage here, then build a bracket from the teams that finished top. Group stage into knockout is how most real tournaments are shaped, and both halves live on the same account.

How to Make a Round Robin Schedule

Three steps, and nobody has to draw a grid on paper.

1

Add your teams

One name per line. Two entrants or twenty — the schedule sizes itself either way.

2

Generate the fixtures

Every pairing, grouped into matchdays. Turn on home and away first if you want a two-legged season.

3

Enter results

Type both scores. The table re-sorts underneath, and everyone on the link sees it happen.

How Many Games Is a Round Robin?

Every entrant plays every other once, so N teams play N × (N − 1) ÷ 2 fixtures. Doubling up for home and away doubles that.

An odd number of teams needs one extra matchday, because somebody sits out each round.

Frequently Asked Questions

A round robin generator turns a list of teams or players into a schedule where every entrant plays every other entrant. With 8 teams that is 28 fixtures; with 8 teams playing home and away it is 56. MakeTheBoard builds that fixture list for you, groups it into matchdays, and then keeps the league table up to date as you enter results, so nobody has to work out who still owes whom a game.

Yes. Generating a schedule, entering results, and sharing a live link are all free with no credit card. The free plan holds up to 15 entrants on a league board, which covers most club seasons and group stages. Pro ($24/mo) and Premium ($52/mo) raise that to 50 and 500 and add custom colors, logos, removing MakeTheBoard branding, and embedding.

In a bracket, one loss can end your tournament and the draw decides who you meet. In a round robin, everyone plays everyone and the standings decide it, so a single bad game does not knock you out and the result reflects the whole season. Many events run both: a round robin group stage first, then the top finishers into a knockout bracket.

Whatever your competition says. The default is football's 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, but you can change all three. Basketball and volleyball leagues often use 2/1/0, pub and club ladders frequently score 2/0 with no draws at all, and a games night is usually just 1 point per win.

Points first, then goal difference, then total scored, then name. That is the tiebreak chain nearly every real league uses. The table is recalculated from the fixtures every time it loads, so correcting a result you typed wrong immediately corrects the standings too.

Yes. Turn on 'Play home and away' and every pairing is scheduled twice, once in each direction, which doubles the fixture list. The generator also alternates which side of the fixture each entrant takes in a single round, so nobody spends the whole season listed first.

From 2 up to the 600-fixture limit, which is roughly 35 teams in a single round or 24 playing home and away. Fixtures grow quadratically, so past that a round robin is genuinely the wrong shape for the event and it wants groups feeding a knockout bracket instead.

Yes. Every league gets a public link. Anyone with it sees the table and the fixtures update live as results are entered, on their own phone, with no account and nothing to install. Put the same link on a screen at the venue and it updates there too.
