A leaderboard generator is an online tool that creates a ranked list of participants — sorted automatically by score, points, revenue, or any numeric value you define. You provide the names and numbers; the generator handles the sorting, the display, the live updates, and the sharing.

Step 1: Create the board

Click Create and choose the leaderboard board type. Give it a name ("Q3 Sales Sprint", "Mrs. Johnson's Reading Challenge", "Hackathon 2026") and set the score label — "$" for revenue, "pts" for points, "books" for a reading challenge, or any custom label.

Step 2: Add participants

Type in each participant's name and starting score. You can also enable self-registration — share a join link and participants add themselves. This is useful for events where you don't want to type in 50 names manually.

Step 3: Customize

On Pro and Premium plans, upload a logo, set brand colors, and pick a background image. Choose ascending or descending sort order. Configure the score format — decimal places, thousands separators, prefix, suffix.

Step 4: Share

Every leaderboard gets a shareable link and an embed code. The link works on any device; the embed drops into any website, LMS, or intranet that supports iframes. Open the link on a TV for a full-screen display.

Step 5: Update

Tap any row to update a score. The leaderboard re-sorts instantly for every viewer. If a participant moves up or down in rank, the position change is animated — everyone sees who just overtook whom.
