Team wiki / Q4 launch

Q4 launch

Where we are against the launch checklist. The bar below updates when anyone logs progress.

Pick a Widget

Each one below is a real, live board, exactly what will sit in your Notion page. Make your own, change the colors and names, then embed it.

Progress bar

One bar per goal, filling toward a target you set. Add a deadline and it counts the days down underneath. Good for OKRs, launches and savings.

Leaderboard

Names ranked by score, re-sorting as points come in. Reading challenges, sales contests, chore charts, house points.

Make a leaderboard

Sales leaderboard

Reps ranked by deals or revenue, on the team's Notion dashboard. Whoever logs a sale updates it from their phone; nobody edits the page.

Class or house points

Points for teams, houses or tables, for a class Notion page or a school wiki. Pair it with a goal thermometer for a fundraiser.

Round-by-round scores with the totals worked out, for a quiz league or a game night your group keeps in Notion.

Tournament bracket

A live bracket that advances as you enter results. Office ping-pong, a fantasy draft, a book-cover vote.

How to Add a Widget to Notion

Notion shows any web page that allows embedding inside an Embed block. These boards allow it, so there is nothing to connect.

  1. 1

    Make the board

Pick a widget above, add your names or goal, and set the colors to match your page.

  2. 2

    Copy the Notion link

Open Share, then Add to website, and press Copy link for Notion.

  3. 3

    Type /embed in Notion

Paste the link, press Embed link, and drag the block's corner to size it.

Use the link from Add to website, not the board's normal share link. The share link opens the full page and won't load inside an embed. More detail in the embedding guide.

Why Not Just Use a Notion Database?

A database with a formula progress bar is great for tracking tasks. It is less good as the thing everyone glances at: rows don't re-rank themselves into a podium, a percentage formula isn't a thermometer, and anyone logging a score needs edit access to your workspace.

A widget keeps the scorekeeping outside Notion. Give a coach, a teacher or a sales lead a link to update the board from their phone, and the Notion page stays read-only for everyone else.

  • Ranks and re-sorts itself as scores change
  • Update from a phone without opening Notion
  • Let people log scores without workspace access
  • The same board can go on a TV or in a newsletter

Frequently Asked Questions

Make the board here, open Share, then Add to website, and press Copy link for Notion. In Notion, type /embed on any page, paste the link and press Embed link. Drag the corner of the block to resize it. That is the whole setup: no integration to install and no Notion permissions to grant.

Yes. Every widget on this page can be made and embedded on the free plan, with no credit card. A free board's embed shows a small Made with MakeTheBoard badge, and the free plan allows up to 15 names per board. A paid plan removes the badge and raises the limit.

Yes. The widget is a live view of the board, so a score or donation you enter from your phone shows up on the Notion page within a second or two. Nobody has to edit the Notion page itself.

Yes. Notion's built-in progress bars come from a formula property inside a database. The progress bar widget here needs no database: set a target, log progress, and the bar fills. Use the formula approach for per-row task progress and a widget for one headline goal everyone should see.

The progress bar and thermometer widgets can carry a deadline. Set one and the widget shows the days left under the bar, so a goal and its countdown sit in one block. For a plain clock or timer with no goal attached, a dedicated clock widget is the better fit.

Yes. Embeds render in the Notion apps for iPhone, Android and desktop as well as in the browser, and the board is built to read well on a narrow phone screen.

Anyone who can open the Notion page sees the widget, including visitors to a page you have published to the web. The board itself must be public for the embed to load, so do not put anything on it you would not share.

Yes. The same link works in Google Sites, Canvas and most LMSs, and the Copy embed code button gives you an iframe for WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace or a plain HTML page.
