Farkle Scoring Chart

These are the values most rule sets use. Farkle is a folk game, though, and almost every family plays it a little differently. Common changes: three 1s worth 300 instead of 1,000, four, five and six of a kind doubling the triple's value instead of the flat 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000, and no score at all for three pairs.

None of that changes the sheet: it adds up whatever you bank. Just agree on the chart before the first roll, because arguing about it at 9,400 points is how game night ends early.

How a Farkle Turn Works

Every turn is the same push-your-luck loop. The sheet only needs one number per turn: what the player banked, or 0 if they farkled.

  1. 1

    Roll all six dice

Look for scoring dice: 1s, 5s, three of a kind or better, and the six-dice combinations.

  2. 2

Set aside at least one scorer

You must keep at least one scoring die or set each roll. Scoring dice only count from a single roll; you can't combine dice across rolls.

  3. 3

    Bank it or push on

Stop and write the turn's total on the sheet, or roll the remaining dice for more. Score with all six and you get hot dice: roll all six again.

  4. 4

    Farkle and it's gone

Roll nothing that scores and the whole turn is worth 0. Write it down anyway so the sheet shows whose turn is next.

Rules to Agree Before You Start

Getting on the board

Many groups require a first banked turn of 500 or more before a player scores anything. Until then, their turns count as 0.

The final round

Once someone banks past 10,000, everyone else gets one more turn to beat them. The sheet ends the game when that round is complete.

Three farkles in a row

Some versions take 500 or 1,000 points off a player's total for three farkles in a row. Type it as a negative turn.

Frequently Asked Questions

Only certain dice score: each 1 is 100, each 5 is 50, and three or more of a kind score as a set (three 4s are 400). Straights, three pairs and two triplets score as combinations. After each roll you set aside at least one scoring die, then either bank your points for the turn or roll the rest. The chart on this page lists the common values.

Rolling dice with nothing that scores. When that happens you lose every point you built up that turn and play passes to the next player. Points you banked on earlier turns are safe.

10,000 is the usual target. When a player banks a turn that takes them to 10,000 or more, every other player gets one last turn to beat them, and the highest total wins. Shorter games to 5,000 are common with young players.

If all six dice have been set aside as scoring dice, you may pick up all six and keep rolling, adding to the same turn's total. It is also called rolling over. You can keep going as long as you like, but a farkle still wipes out the whole turn.

Many groups play that way: your first banked turn must be worth at least 500 (some use 350 or 1,000) before you can score at all. It isn't universal, so agree on it before the first roll. On this sheet, just leave a player's turns blank or 0 until they get on the board.

Both are common. Most modern rule sets score three 1s as 1,000, but older and house versions treat them like any other triple, 1 × 100 = 300. Settle it before you start; this sheet just adds whatever you type.

In some versions, yes: three farkles in a row costs 500 or 1,000 points from your banked total. Enter it on the sheet as a negative turn score. Many families skip this rule entirely.
