Phase 10 Score Sheet

Type each hand's penalty points and tick the box when a player makes their phase. The sheet shows the phase everyone is on and ranks by phase first, points second, the way the game is actually won.

  • Tracks each player's phase, not just their points
  • Knows the winner: first through phase 10, ties on points
  • Print a blank sheet, or share the game live

The 10 Phases

Everyone works through the same phases in order. A set is cards of the same number; a run is cards in a row. Colors don't matter for either, only for phase 8.

  1. 12 sets of 3
  2. 21 set of 3 + 1 run of 4
  3. 31 set of 4 + 1 run of 4
  4. 41 run of 7
  5. 51 run of 8
  6. 61 run of 9
  7. 72 sets of 4
  8. 87 cards of one color
  9. 91 set of 5 + 1 set of 2
  10. 101 set of 5 + 1 set of 3

How Phase 10 Scoring Works

A hand ends when one player plays or discards their last card. Everyone else adds up the cards still in their hand and writes that down as penalty points. The player who went out scores 0.

Points only matter at the very end. The game is a race through the phases: the first player to complete phase 10 wins, and if more than one gets there in the same hand, the lowest total takes it. A player on phase 7 with 180 points is beating a player on phase 5 with 40.

That is the part paper sheets get wrong and this one doesn't: tick the box beside a score when that player made their phase, and the leader is worked out by phase first.

One Hand, Scored

Maya goes out, so she scores 0 and ticks her box. Jon made his phase earlier in the hand but is stuck with a 4, a 12 and a Skip: 5 + 10 + 15 = 30, and he ticks his box too. Priya never made her phase and holds a Wild, two 9s and an 11: 25 + 5 + 5 + 10 = 45, no tick, so she tries the same phase again next hand.

Frequently Asked Questions

1: two sets of 3. 2: one set of 3 and one run of 4. 3: one set of 4 and one run of 4. 4: one run of 7. 5: one run of 8. 6: one run of 9. 7: two sets of 4. 8: seven cards of one color. 9: one set of 5 and one set of 2. 10: one set of 5 and one set of 3.

When a player goes out, everyone else scores penalty points for the cards left in their hand: 5 for each card 1 through 9, 10 for each 10, 11 or 12, 15 for a Skip and 25 for a Wild. The player who went out scores 0. Points are bad, so a low total is good.

The first player to complete phase 10. If two or more players finish phase 10 in the same hand, the one with the lowest point total wins. That is why the sheet ranks players by phase first and uses points only to break ties.

No. If you don't lay down your phase during a hand, you try the same phase again next hand. That is what makes the phase count so important: a player with more points but a higher phase is usually ahead.

Type each player's penalty points for the hand, and tick the small box beside the score if they made their phase that hand. The On phase row counts the ticks and shows which phase each player is working on, and the sheet ends the game when someone completes phase 10.

A set is cards of the same number, in any colors: three 7s is a set of 3. A run is cards in numerical order, in any colors: 4, 5, 6, 7 is a run of 4. Wild cards can stand in for any card in a set or run.

25, the most of any card. A Skip is 15. Getting stuck with a Wild in your hand when someone goes out hurts, so play them into your phase or onto a hit as soon as it helps.
